Dr. Masaki Okamoto, an alumnus of School of Medicine, Shinshu University, completed both his professional degree and doctoral program at the Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo. He further excelled by graduating with distinction from the Master of Science program at University College London (UCL). Dr. Okamoto's early career included roles as a visiting researcher at UCL, a JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC2 and PD), and a specially appointed researcher at The University of Tokyo, before founding our company. In addition to his leadership role, Dr. Okamoto holds several prestigious positions: as an instructor in Radiology at Harvard Medical School, a staff researcher in Massachusetts General Hospital's 3D Imaging Research, and a visiting professor of Data Science and Statistics at SBI Graduate School.

Mr. Daisuke Tsuge is a graduate of Doshisha University. He began his career at Recruit Co., Ltd., where he led the new business development division and served as a Senior Producer. Following this, Mr. Tsuge gained extensive experience as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at a medical AI startup for six years. Subsequently, he moved to a venture capital firm where he managed the investment division before assuming his current role. His expertise encompasses strategic business planning and execution, spearheading fundraising and capital alliances, and managing sales divisions.

Mr. Shunya Matsubara graduated from the University of Bath with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He began his career at Bosch Corporation, working in R&D for motorcycle body control systems. He then served as a development leader at Recruit Co., Ltd. Following this, Mr. Matsubara founded a development company, leading it through to a successful M&A. He subsequently oversaw development at the acquiring company and served concurrently as the CEO of two group subsidiaries. His current role involves responsibilities in product development and project management.

Mr. Yuto Okawa is a graduate of Mathematical Sciences, School of Science and Technology, Kwansei Gakuin University. He completed his master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Science at the Graduate School of Rikkyo University before taking up his current position. Additionally, Mr. Okawa is pursuing his doctoral studies in Artificial Intelligence and Science at the same institution and is involved with Digital Human Research Team, Artificial Intelligence Research Center at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). His responsibilities include building evidence for core technologies and products, as well as research management.

Dr. Hidekazu Takahashi graduated from the School of Medicine, Hiroshima University, and completed his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences at the Graduate School of Medicine, Nagoya University, including the prestigious CIBoG Program. After working as a JRA in the Image Information Processing Research Team at RIKEN, he assumed his current position. He is also a certified specialist in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy by the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology and the Japanese Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, actively engaging in clinical practice. He is responsible for research activities, including evaluating the clinical utility of products by leveraging his clinical expertise.

Mr. Hirofumi Miura earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Kyoto University and a Master’s degree in Engineering from the Kyoto University Graduate School of Engineering. He spent 28 years at the Asahi Kasei Group, where he held pivotal leadership roles, including Head of Medical Device Design and Development, Manufacturing Manager, and Global Business Development Lead.
Over the course of his career, he gained extensive end-to-end product lifecycle expertise, successfully introduced international medical devices, and contributed to achieving European medical device regulatory certifications. At our company, he applies his extensive QMS experience to drive quality assurance, while drawing on his broad product development and market insights to guide product strategy.

After graduating from Waseda University, Dr. Masahiro Echigo worked at Nihon Kohden Corporation for 30 years. His roles included design and development of medical devices, as well as support for development in academia-industry collaboration projects such as those with AMED. He earned a doctoral degree in Life Science and Medical Science from the Tokyo Women’s Medical University/Waseda University Joint Graduate School, where he studied Regulatory Science, and established the clinical development department at the company. He has been active in industrial association activities related to the standardization and regulation of medical devices at JEITA and JIRA, and has served as the vice chairman of the Clinical Evaluation Committee of the Japan Association for Medical Devices Industry (JAMDI) for six years since 2018. At our company, he is in charge of clinical development and quality control.

With extensive experience in back-office operations across various roles such as department secretary, executive secretary, and management departments, Ms. Hiromi Endo has served as the office manager for several medical startups, including exMedio Inc. She was instrumental in establishing management departments and organizing back-office environments. She also has a background in supporting and consulting for startups in their early stages. At our company, she continues to excel as the office manager, overseeing all back-office operations.

Mr. Tomohiro Haga is a seasoned business leader with over 15 years of experience in international business development. After earning his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Okayama University, he joined PHC Corporation (formerly Panasonic Healthcare), where he was involved in design and development, mass production launch at overseas factories, and global technology and business exploration. He later took on a leadership role at a biotech venture, where he spearheaded overseas business operations, including the establishment of a U.S. subsidiary, clinical development, FDA regulatory submissions, supply chain management, and strategic alliances. At our company, he leverages his extensive experience to lead U.S. business operations, overseeing business development and market expansion.

Ms. Yuki Kajita began her career at Astellas Pharma Inc., where she developed new drug launch strategies across 12 countries in the Asia and Oceania region. During her assignment in Singapore, she was instrumental in establishing a regional marketing hub for the Southeast Asia region. Additionally, she led the reorganization of operations in the Latin America region. In the Product Strategy Department, she was responsible for the financial evaluation and portfolio management of pipeline products. In the Rx+ Business Accelerator Division, she spearheaded the creation of new business in the digital health and medical device spaces. At our company, she is in charge of global business development following the U.S. and Japan markets.

After graduating from Keio University’s Faculty of Letters with a degree in Sociology, Ms. Nagaoka began her career as a journalist at a leading national newspaper. She then spent nearly two decades at a medical advertising agency, where she planned and produced a wide range of materials—from physician-facing promotional assets and interview articles to public education resources and websites. During her tenure, she served as Marketing Director, overseeing new drug promotions across multiple therapeutic areas and devising various strategic campaigns. After gaining further experience in the marketing department of a specialty pharmaceutical company, she joined our company in 2024. In her current role, she is responsible for developing disease awareness initiatives aimed at the general public.

Mr. Masumi Matsui began his career as a physical therapist in an orthopedic clinic, gaining experience in clinical practice and trainer activities. He then transitioned into the fitness industry as a manager at a venture company, where he was involved in service development, promotional planning, instructor training, and new business development. Subsequently, he contributed to multiple healthcare startups, leading marketing and public relations initiatives from inception to execution, while also engaging in corporate sales, new business development, and project management. At our company, he is responsible for domestic business development.

Mr. Jun Hinosawa is a certified medical radiation technologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He has held positions in clinical oversight at large-scale healthcare examination institutions before assuming his current role. Mr. Hinosawa is responsible for clinical data collection and management related to product development, clinical deployment strategies for products, healthcare institution support services, and remote diagnostic reading services.

Mr. Hayato Toya graduated from the Department of Applied Information Engineering, Suwa Tokyo University of Science. He furthered his education by completing the master's program in Artificial Intelligence and Science at Rikkyo University before taking up his current position. Proficient in information engineering, Mr. Toya possesses a wide range of experience, from analyzing big data and constructing AI models to developing web applications. Within our company, he is engaged in essential system development for healthcare institutions and information security tasks.

After starting academic journey at Boston University, she transferred to the State University of New York at Geneseo, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. She then enhanced her research skills as an assistant at the iPS Cell Research Institute of Kyoto University. She pursued further academic excellence with a Master’s degree in Life Science and Technology from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, while also enriching her experience as a visiting student at the University of Tokyo. In addition, she has co-authored over 10 academic papers and collaborated across diverse research fields, ranging from molecular and cellular biology to clinical applications.

Mr. Kanata Hasegawa is a graduate of Tokyo Metropolitan College of Industrial Technology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Rikkyo University’s Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence Science. With a strong foundation in engineering, he gained hands-on experience in AI model development and data analysis infrastructure through collaborative research with industry partners. Leveraging this expertise, he plays a key role in advancing AI model development and data-driven infrastructure at our company.

Mr. Katsuya Hashizume serves as an Executive Officer and Partner at Beyond Next Ventures Inc. He has a distinguished career that includes leadership roles as the Head of Industry-Academia Collaboration Investment Group and the Representative Business Promoter of JST START. For approximately a decade, he has been consistently involved in investing in university-based ventures. His focus within the startup ecosystem lies in investing in the fields of medical devices and digital health. He provides dedicated support from the inception of a company through its establishment and subsequent business development.

Dr. Yuki Shimahara earned his Ph.D. in Life Sciences from the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences at the University of Tokyo. In 2014, he founded LPIXEL Inc., where, as CEO, he led the development of AI-driven imaging solutions for the medical and pharmaceutical fields. In 2019, he successfully obtained regulatory approval for a deep learning–based software medical device.
Throughout his career, Dr. Shimahara has contributed to industry and policy advancements, notably serving as a standing director of the Japan Medical Imaging and Radiological Systems Industries Association—the largest industry organization in its field—and supporting administrative and regulatory reforms through initiatives of the Cabinet Office’s Regulatory Reform Promotion Council. Under a Health and Labour Sciences Research Grant (2021–2023) from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, he took part in creating data processing guidelines.
After stepping down as a board director of LPIXEL in 2023, Dr. Shimahara established Medical AI Promotion Institute (MAPI) to promote the utilization of medical data under the Next-Generation Medical Infrastructure Act led by the Cabinet Office. He also founded Bio Engineering Capital Inc., where he provides startup and business growth support for medical DX/AI entrepreneurs through a dedicated fund.

Dr. Ainsley MacLean is a board-certified neuroradiologist who graduated from Brown Medical School and completed her training at Harvard Medical School. With 15 years of experience in healthcare operations and AI technology, she recently served as Chief AI Officer and Chief Medical Information Officer at Kaiser Permanente, where she led AI initiatives and co-founded the Permanente AI Center of Excellence.
