Masaki Okamoto

Dr. Masaki Okamoto, an alumnus of School of Medicine, Shinshu University, completed both his professional degree and doctoral program at the Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo. He further excelled by graduating with distinction from the Master of Science program at University College London (UCL). Dr. Okamoto's early career included roles as a visiting researcher at UCL, a JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC2 and PD), and a specially appointed researcher at The University of Tokyo, before founding our company. In addition to his leadership role, Dr. Okamoto holds several prestigious positions: as an instructor in Radiology at Harvard Medical School, a staff researcher in Massachusetts General Hospital's 3D Imaging Research, and a visiting professor of Data Science and Statistics at SBI Graduate School.

Daisuke Tsuge

Mr. Daisuke Tsuge is a graduate of Doshisha University. He began his career at Recruit Co., Ltd., where he led the new business development division and served as a Senior Producer. Following this, Mr. Tsuge gained extensive experience as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at a medical AI startup for six years. Subsequently, he moved to a venture capital firm where he managed the investment division before assuming his current role. His expertise encompasses strategic business planning and execution, spearheading fundraising and capital alliances, and managing sales divisions.

Yuto Okawa

Dr. Yuto Okawa graduated from the School of Science and Technology, Kwansei Gakuin University. He completed his master's and doctoral degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Science at the Graduate School of Rikkyo University, becoming the first person in Japan to be awarded a doctoral degree in Artificial Intelligence Science. During his graduate studies, he was affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence Research Center at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), and has several outstanding research achievements in the areas of AI theory and application, and data science. With a deep interest in the medical AI field, he currently serves as a Director, leading strategic collaborations with domestic and international academic institutions and research organizations, while also overseeing the development and advancement of a research and development infrastructure in alignment with the company's next-generation product pipeline. He also serves as a visiting researcher at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, National Cancer Center Hospital, and as a part-time lecturer at the Center for Research of the Aging Workforce, University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan.

Katsuya Hashizume

Mr. Katsuya Hashizume serves as an Executive Officer and Partner at Beyond Next Ventures Inc. He has a distinguished career that includes leadership roles as the Head of Industry-Academia Collaboration Investment Group and the Representative Business Promoter of JST START. For approximately a decade, he has been consistently involved in investing in university-based ventures. His focus within the startup ecosystem lies in investing in the fields of medical devices and digital health. He provides dedicated support from the inception of a company through its establishment and subsequent business development.

Hidekazu Takahashi

Dr. Hidekazu Takahashi is a physician-scientist, board-certified in gastroenterology and endoscopy, whose work focuses on artificial intelligence and medical imaging. He received his M.D. from Hiroshima University and his Ph.D. from Nagoya University, where he was selected for CIBoG, a government-sponsored doctoral excellence program. He served as a Special Postdoctoral Researcher at RIKEN’s Image Processing Research Team and held research appointments at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital’s 3D Imaging Research. He remains actively engaged in international collaborative research. He works across research and business strategy, leveraging his clinical and scientific expertise to contribute to long-term strategic planning, foster domestic and international partnerships, and identify new opportunities for innovation and growth.

Koichi Nagura

Dr. Koichi Nagura is a graduate of the National Defense Medical College and a board-certified ophthalmologist. As a former medical officer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, he undertook a broad spectrum of high-stakes missions―including disaster relief deployments and top-secret national operations―while focusing on advanced clinical care, imaging diagnostics, and rare disease research. Recognized for his exceptional leadership and accomplishments, he was promoted to the rank of Commander ahead of schedule. After his honorable discharge, Dr. Nagura applies his extensive clinical expertise and mission-driven strategic acumen to spearhead our company’s clinical and marketing strategies.

Junichi Nozaki

Graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo. Spent 18 years at Marubeni Corporation, a major general trading company, holding various managerial positions in finance, including fundraising, M&A, IR, and strategic planning. Subsequently, during a four-year tenure at Mercari, Inc., served as Director of the Finance Division, leading FP&A and the company’s transition to the TSE Prime Market. Also established the Indian subsidiary and spearheaded operations as Board Director and Head of Corporate. Currently serves as CFO, leveraging extensive expertise in strategic finance and corporate management cultivated at global enterprises to strengthen the management foundation and drive corporate value enhancement.

Tomohiro Haga

Mr. Tomohiro Haga is a seasoned business leader with over 15 years of experience in international business development. After earning his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Okayama University, he joined PHC Corporation (formerly Panasonic Healthcare), where he was involved in design and development, mass production launch at overseas factories, and global technology and business exploration. He later took on a leadership role at a biotech venture, where he spearheaded overseas business operations, including the establishment of a U.S. subsidiary, clinical development, FDA regulatory submissions, supply chain management, and strategic alliances. At our company, he leverages his extensive experience to lead U.S. business operations, overseeing business development and market expansion.

Jun Hinosawa

Mr. Jun Hinosawa is a certified medical radiation technologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He has held positions in clinical oversight at large-scale healthcare examination institutions before assuming his current role. Mr. Hinosawa is responsible for clinical data collection and management related to product development, clinical deployment strategies for products, healthcare institution support services, and remote diagnostic reading services.

Hirofumi Miura

Mr. Hirofumi Miura earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Kyoto University and a Master’s degree in Engineering from the Kyoto University Graduate School of Engineering. He spent 28 years at the Asahi Kasei Group, where he held pivotal leadership roles, including Head of Medical Device Design and Development, Manufacturing Manager, Global Business Development Lead, and Intellectual Property Promotion Lead.
Over the course of his career, he gained extensive end-to-end product lifecycle expertise, successfully introduced international medical devices, and contributed to achieving European medical device regulatory certifications. At our company, he applies his extensive global experience to drive global business strategies, including intellectual property strategy.

Completed a doctoral program at the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. During this time, served as a JSPS Research Fellow and Visiting Research Student at the University of Cambridge. Ph.D. (Engineering). At GE HealthCare, served as a CT image quality engineer before spending approximately five years as the lead of AI application development. Also based at the U.S. headquarters, gaining experience in international regulatory submissions for multiple SaMDs, including the U.S. FDA, European MDD/MDR, China NMPA, and Japanese Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act. Project Management Professional (PMP®). At the company, serves as head of the Product Division, overseeing the Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs departments. Leads product management efforts to ensure that the company's core technologies are brought to market as medical devices that meet customer needs while complying with applicable regulations, and are operated smoothly within healthcare institutions.

Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) / Head of R&D

Yasunori Yamada

Dr. Yasunori Yamada earned his Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology from the University of Tokyo, where he received the Dean Prize and a JSPS Research Fellowship. During his subsequent near-decade tenure at IBM Research – Tokyo, he launched and led the Digital Health Team, driving AI and machine learning R&D for neurological disorders and mental health. He has spearheaded global collaborations with top-tier institutions including Cleveland Clinic and published his first-authored work in Nature Communications. A recognized expert in digital health, Dr. Yamada has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications (the majority as first author) and holds 10 academic awards, including four Best Paper Awards. His ability to bridge academic rigor with practical business application is further highlighted by five corporate awards from IBM. As Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), Dr. Yamada directs the company’s entire R&D pipeline, from AI model development to clinical research. He concurrently serves as a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Tsukuba.

Hiroaki Asahara

Attorney at Law at OLD NEW THINGS Law Office, specializing in medical and healthcare regulations as well as startup legal practice. He has continuously supported clients in the areas of medical devices, Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), and digital health, including regulatory compliance, licensing, fundraising, and corporate transactions. He also serves on committees such as the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) “Committee for the Development of Guidance on Program Medical Devices Utilizing Generative AI.” As a Corporate Auditor of the Company, he supports the achievement of the Company’s long-term vision through governance and oversight activities.

Yuki Shimahara

Dr. Yuki Shimahara earned his Ph.D. in Life Sciences from the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences at the University of Tokyo. In 2014, he founded LPIXEL Inc., where, as CEO, he led the development of AI-driven imaging solutions for the medical and pharmaceutical fields. In 2019, he successfully obtained regulatory approval for a deep learning–based software medical device.
Throughout his career, Dr. Shimahara has contributed to industry and policy advancements, notably serving as a standing director of the Japan Medical Imaging and Radiological Systems Industries Association—the largest industry organization in its field—and supporting administrative and regulatory reforms through initiatives of the Cabinet Office’s Regulatory Reform Promotion Council. Under a Health and Labour Sciences Research Grant (2021–2023) from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, he took part in creating data processing guidelines.
After stepping down as a board director of LPIXEL in 2023, Dr. Shimahara established Medical AI Promotion Institute (MAPI) to promote the utilization of medical data under the Next-Generation Medical Infrastructure Act led by the Cabinet Office. He also founded Bio Engineering Capital Inc., where he provides startup and business growth support for medical DX/AI entrepreneurs through a dedicated fund.

Ainsley MacLean

Dr. Ainsley MacLean is a board-certified neuroradiologist who graduated from Brown Medical School and completed her training at Harvard Medical School. With 15 years of experience in healthcare operations and AI technology, she recently served as Chief AI Officer and Chief Medical Information Officer at Kaiser Permanente, where she led AI initiatives and co-founded the Permanente AI Center of Excellence.
